Emerging Leaders seeks Executive Energizer

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Energizer will operate as a generalist to meet the growing needs of a start-up non-profit organization and will assist in all facets of laying the groundwork, launching, and scaling the organization. The individual will be expected to work closely with the community and with community partners, helping to build an environment of trust by engaging them regularly in ways that support the organization’s success, values and culture. This position requires a motivated self-starter who is a skilled “jack or jill of all trades” and who will thrive in a start-up environment.
We are looking for a candidate interested in making a 2-year minimum commitment, with the understanding that continued employment past 2 years will be based upon satisfactory performance and overall financial sustainability of the organization. It is understood that our anticipated growth responsibilities and salary will also change and be commensurate with that expected growth.
Responsibilities:
As with any start-up environment, the Executive Energizer’s responsibilities will be fluid and dynamic, particularly during the first 6-12 months as we build capacity and secure additional resources to support a growing organization. The goal of the Board is to ensure EL is financially self-sustainable within 2 years and to generate additional resources through fundraising activities to hire additional staff thereafter. We also expect the Executive Energizer to assist the Board with developing a strategic plan, and to execute that plan on time, and on budget.
Required:
-University degree or college diploma;
-Demonstrated community development experience;
-Excellent organization, time management and administrative skills with an ability to plan, set goals and achieve objectives are considered a must-have;
-Proven success leading volunteers and working with a volunteer Board;
-Successful experience with financial management, grant writing and administration, and private fundraising;
-Business acumen considered essential, including financial management skills;
-Technology proficiency with demonstrated interest using new technology (and new media) to promote new services and delivery mechanisms;
-Marketing, public relations and media experience;
-Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
-Experience with social media;
-Ability to work independently;
-Established London network;
-Imagination, vision and demonstrated leadership experience;
-Passion for mentorship, learning and development.
