The Emerging Leaders’ OnBoard program is an ongoing effort to connect Emerging Leaders with meaningful opportunities in their community and is a chance to participate local boards, commissions and special committees.
Program members will not only gain valuable experience and leadership skills but will broaden their network all while giving back to their community. As a participating organization, it gives you the chance to have eager, talented, community leaders engaging on your board bringing exciting new ideas and a passion for the community.
Here is how it works:
All organizations interested in the OnBoard program can connect with Emerging Leader’s Executive Director, Sean Quigley at to begin the process. The first step is to fill out the volunteer profile (DOWNLOAD HERE) describing the position you are looking to fill. Once this has been completed and submitted, Emerging leaders will post the opportunity and eager community members, through EL marketing and communications channels, will search through the list of participating organizations. If an opportunity is of interest, the individual will submit an application. We anticipate these will be posted by the end of August 2011.
These submissions will first be vetted by Emerging Leaders for appropriateness and all valid applications will be forwarded to individual organizations for further evaluation.
Boards are responsible for vetting each candidate based on established needs and criteria. Each candidate should participate in the normal evaluation process as stipulated by the organizations.
PLEASE NOTE: At this time we are only looking for local boards, commissions and special committees that are looking to fill vacancies. After August 15th, 2011 Emerging Leaders’ members will be eligible to apply for specific open positions that are available.
