London Creative Cities Task Force Report

In August 2004, Culture was identified as one of the six priorities of London City Council’s Community Strategic Agenda. The Culture sector encompasses theatre, visual arts, fine crafts, music, dance, cinema and video, heritage, museums, sports and libraries in addition to such aspects as cultural tourism and marketing strategies and ethno-cultural diversity.  The Creative City movement recognizes the importance knowledge-intensive industries such as film and television, publishing, information technology, biomedical research, education and new media have on promoting the growth and economic success of a city.
